PATUN Thached House

The Thatched House of 'Patun'

is located at Patun village in Katwa sub-division of Purba Bardhaman district. The house is made using mud and standing on a low platform. It has two rooms facing South and East respectively. There is a small porch with eight decorative wooden pillars in front of the rooms.The room facing East has an attached kitchen with three windows and a doorway. The South facing room is of much bigger size with two wooden arched doors and four wooden windows. The roof is made of straw, strips of bamboo and rope. The roof has wooden logs as support.
